About this puzzle
A large print Bible crossword based on well-known stories: Noah’s ark, David and Goliath, Jonah and the great fish. The clues are simple and suit Sunday school, church groups and Bible study.
On paper the squares are about .66 inches wide, roomy enough for shaky handwriting or a thick marker. The PDF is laid out like a large print puzzle book: the 11×11 grid has page one to itself, the 12 clues are printed at 18 point on page two, and the answer key is on page three. Lay the first two pages side by side and solve without squinting.
Did you know?
- The story of Noah’s ark is found in the Book of Genesis, chapters 6 to 9.
- The story of David and Goliath is told in 1 Samuel 17.
- Jonah’s time inside the great fish lasted three days and three nights.
Talk about it
- Which Bible story did you love most as a child?
- Who taught you Sunday school, and what do you remember about them?
- Is there a hymn that goes with one of these stories for you?
- Which person in these stories would you most like to ask a question?
Activity tip
After solving, read one of the stories aloud from a large print Bible, or invite a volunteer to retell it in their own words. Short readings work well before a meal or a service.
